Sir Patrick Stewart, Star Trek’s Captain Jean Luc Picard of the Starship Enterprise, was a big winner on the Jimmy Kimmel Show March 12, 2020.
The show itself was unique, airing just days into the pandemic shut-down and guest hosted by “Mayor Pete” Buttigieg, who had just left the presidential race. Patrick Stewart, always the congenial gentleman, was put to the test to prove his extensive knowledge of life about the Starship Enterprise.
That day, Star Trek fan Pete Buttigieg, LeVar Burton “Lt. Commander Geordi La Forge” as game show host, and Patrick Stewart participated in a surprise Star Trek trivia contest called “Who’s the Captain Now?”
The score was surprisingly close, with Mr. Buttigieg displaying an unexpected amount of Star Trek knowledge. But no one can know the secrets of Jean Luc Picard better than the original! Sir Patrick Stewart brought the big win home with his final answer! As an award, The Jimmy Kimmel Show’s co-host Guillermo Rodriguez brought out his very special award. The show presented an International Star Registry certificate on-air as an award for his out-of-this-world knowledge.
There are at least 5 stars named for Patrick Stewart dedicated over the course of more than 30 years, including a star in the Constellation Cancer named for his 60th birthday on July 13, 2000!
